A partnership between NREC and Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife

The Fisheries Internship & Enhancement Program provides hands-on experience for aspiring conservationists, biologists, and outdoor enthusiasts eager to work in Maine’s fisheries. Interns work with professionals on projects focused on habitat restoration, population monitoring, and sustainable fishery management in the Moosehead Lake region. Through fieldwork and research, interns gain a deep understanding of freshwater ecosystems and contribute to the conservation of Maine’s aquatic resources. This program fosters practical skills, and a sense of stewardship, and prepares interns for active roles in environmental preservation.
