Designed for teens aged 13-17 from Piscataquis County, Penobscot Paddlers offers a unique chance to explore Maine’s scenic waterways while learning essential paddling skills. In partnership with the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Maine Woods Initiative and the Maine Department of Education, this program combines outdoor adventure with environmental education, introducing teens to the natural beauty and ecological significance of the Penobscot River. Participants build water skills, gain ecological knowledge, and develop lasting friendships, fostering a meaningful connection to Maine’s wilderness.
